Overall I am pleasantly surprised by the warmth of this non-bulky and flattering jacket! As a resident of South Florida, I need a midweight jacket for those 50° to 60° “cool” days. The reviews on this jacket said it fitted too snug so most people ordered a size up however I don’t like the bulky look of big jackets. As a curvy woman with large hips and thighs being able to flatter my waistline is an unexpected bonus about this jacket. The chest and back are warm comfortable flannel and the sleeves are a silky polyester slides on easily over a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt. This is not your husband’s bulky round jacket, it has a very nice cinch in the back good for a snug fit when it is zipped and loose when open without the snowman appearance! The button pockets on the front are good for an iPhone X, however the hand slide in pockets behind those front pockets are very small, two small for most people if they want to put their hand in straight, your fingers have to be curled to fit all the way in. The breast pocket is extremely small, not suitable for an iPhone, and not securable for valuables. It is a cute detail that looks fashionable otherwise I’m not sure what function that little pocket would serve. I’m 5’5” 126lbs curvy bottom heavy hourglass. I normally fit size small tops and medium pants. Happily this jacket in a Small is perfectly fitted. If you want more room, go a size up—it will still be flattering.
This is a great jacket! I wanted a "safari jacket" for our trip to Africa, and this one was perfect! The price was almost unbelievable, so my hopes were not held high. But upon receiving it and trying it on, I deem this little barn coat to be awesome. It has lots of usable pockets, including a slit pocket at top that has great contrasting fabric detail. The plaid fabric interior is very good looking, bringing the olive and khaki colors together. I had lots of comments from friends who saw our safari pictures asking about this coat and where I got it! I had also looked at Woolrich, Ralph Lauren and Lands End barn coats, but for the money this one can't be beat. I will use it for years and take it out on daily walks this fall when the weather turns. I'm VERY glad I purchased this little coat!
I bought this thinking it was a barn coat.. boy was I wrong. This is nothing but a lined shirt. There is no way this qualifies as a coat. It's an oiled shirt with flannel lining. The stitching on the one I got was bad, the hem wasn't even straight and there was thread everywhere. I'm sending it back.
This jacket is gorgeous- really a great fall piece with just the right amount of heft. The fabric is soft and luxurious. For reference, I'm 5'7", 115lbs. and the small is perfect with room for a light sweater or fleece underneath.
Having said all that, my shopping experience left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. When I first ordered the jacket, which was shipped through Amazon, I received not the jacket but some sippy cups. I called customer service immediately and they said to reorder the jacket and return the wrong item and I would be credited. Fine. But when I went back to reorder the jacket, the price had suddenly risen $10. They KNEW I would order it again because they sent me the wrong item, and then the RAISED THE PRICE. I think this is called gouging, and it's probably not even legal. I think I'll find out because I thought this was just about the meanest thing ever.
Lovely jacket, nice fit. I ordered an XS (120 lb, 32D) and it fit perfect. The kind of,fit that is comfortable but fitted so it looks feminine and nice even though its a work type jacket.
This is NOT a heavy coat, I wouldn't recommend it for anything under 40F without a hefty fleece underneath. If you bought this wanting a winter type jacket, you will be disappointed.
Its a denim/canvas type material so its meant to be a heavy duty jacket for COOL weather not cold weather. Yes, it is lined with flannel but it is not a winter type coat. Its ideal for cool spring/fall days or early morning.
I'm so pleased with this coat, highly recommended.
Very nice jacket. Material has a smooth, slight sheen like waxed cotton but I dont think it is waxed. Fits well, tailored enough not to look huge and boxy but roomy enough for layers underneath. Would be best suited for cool weather 40-50 degrees but with a layer under could be comfortable down to 30's. Cargo pockets are roomy enough but handwarmer pockets are small and chestpocket is super tiny as others have noted. I originally wanted the color Tarmac but it sold out so I got the Rusty Maroon. I wasn't sure I would like it but it is better in person. Detailing and construction are good. Minus one star for design features that could be better (pockets)
I did not size up. I’m a size 4/6 and ordered a medium like I normally would. I have a thick sweatshirty material top on and this worked just fine. To be totally honest I bought this jacket as more of a fashion statement - I was surprised at how thick it was considering I read so many comments about its thinness. I love the look and though it’s a little slim in the hips, it zips and works out just fine for me. My only complaint is the material is a little stiff, and not because it’s small or my thick shirt underneath. I’m not sure I’m keeping it but out of all the other field jackets I’ve looked at this seems to be priced well and nicely designed especially for the money. I like the leather zip detail on the chest and 2 pockets instead of 4 (2 more on the chest) like many other field jackets.
This jacket is more gorgeous in person. I knew I would like it as I saw it on the TV show The Walking Dead, but in person it's more beautiful than it looked on TV. It has a slight sheen to it, but very slight, not shiny. It makes it look quite expensive. The material is heavy duty, but not too stiff and it has really nice corduroy accents. The pockets are in the right spot too so I can actually put my hands in them (some are too high up). I wear a 6-8 in dresses and medium in most shirts (small in t-shirts). I decided to get this in a small although some reviews say it runs smaller and advised to go a size up.(Originally bought Medium as shown by Amazon, but then messaged seller to exchange to Small) I'm really glad I didn't as it fits perfectly. It does cinch in at the waist, but not so it's tight, just enough that it makes this look feminine which is important with this style of jacket so you don't look like you're wearing men's cloths. There is still enough room that I can fit a medium size sweater underneath, but not a bulky sweater. I got this with one of their plaid wool shirts to layer underneath when it's cooler. This is not a winter jacket at all, definitely a fall / spring jacket. Very good quality jacket, well made with even stitching, durable material and stylish enough to wear in the city. I am a high end shopper (although this jacket is inexpensive) and this fit the bill of my very picky taste. Extremely happy with my purchase.
I liked the fit. Ordered XL for arm shoulder easement for active work use and need a sweater layer. I'm a petite size and was pleased the shoulder to wrist fit/length was perfect. The fabric is "soft waxed" but not totally water shedding so I will treat with a Barbour wax protection. I suggest using a hanger to dry if damp. Comfortable for driving. For shopping or bush walking I love this country look!
Ordered a size larger than I would normally and found fit well still allowing for a light sweater under it if needed, quality is very good. Lining as is will keep you warm enough in spring/ fall.
I didn't know this product promoted hunting, I like the jacket but probably wouldn't have bought it had I known beforehand.
the fit is nice, generous enough for a light down coat underneath for winter, which is required; not a winter coat alone
Un peu grand mais quand même super!
Was exactly what I was looking for!
