I was tempted to remove a star because of the fact that the seller does not offer free return shipping so I was out the money to mail it back since it did not fit. Please keep that in mind when ordering
This is a lovely, classic wide brim hat but sadly I was unable to use it due to its being a little small. I measured the size of my head to be 21 1/2 inches (and it was just a bit too small) just to give others an idea as to whether or not it will work for them. However, I gave it 5 stars in spite of that because it is so very, very pretty.

It came well packed in a very large box and I saw no crimping or wrinkling of the brim or crown. Therefore there was no reason to straighten or iron the brim as was mentioned in another review that I read.

It is made of some kind of paper or straw that looks very nice with just the right amount of sheen. And the ribbon the the large, well-designed and well-placed bow is made of is just gorgeous with a rich and creamy hand.

This is the perfect wide brim Kentucky Derby, church or special function hat so long as your head measures 21 inches or less around.

The hat is beautiful, interesting, and different, but I have a couple of issues:

1) It seems to be made of some kind of paper/fabric and it arrived a bit wrinkled even though it came in a huge box. I haven't tried steaming the hat yet to get the wrinkles out, but I might update this review after I try that.
2) Also, where the hat meets the brim is not properly covered - you can see the black felt lining peeking out under the bow band when wearing. I am only 5'2" so I think I'll try to wear it low or have the bow facing the back, so no one would see it, or I might try painting over it by hand with some type of fabric/craft paint. A black line on a white hat is pretty obvious.
3) It is very snug fitting. Listing noted there was a strap inside to adjust the fit, which made me think it would be a bit loose to where you would need an adjustment in order to fit nicely. Not the case here and I've purchased another hat on Amazon that actually fits a bit loose - guess you never know.

Despite these issues, I am keeping the hat. It has a huge 6" brim plus a pretty bow in a hard to find white and looks elegant. But, the quality should have driven the price down.

I love the hat. I received several compliments on it. Would buy another one. Only drawbacks are that it came sort of scrunced up in a box that was a bit too small instead of a good quality proper sized hat box. I had to starch and iron the brim several times to get it to look like in the picture. Also, since the crown is lined, there is no place to put a bobby pin to secure it to my hair. Not good on a windy day. Otherwise, I really do love the hat!

The fabric for the bow could be a bit higher quality, but the fit is great, the color is bright white, and the brim is huge yet well structured. Love for garden parties, teas, summer, etc.

I bought this for a Kentucky derby party, I got a ton of compliments!! It was just the right size! I liked that it was big- shade wise. Cute enough to ware again in the summer.

Beautiful Hat. Looks just like the picture. Love it!

Gave this as a gift to my mother, she enjoyed it, I would recommend it as a gift to anyone who likes white hats and wants shade from the sun.

I got tons of compliments in Louisville Ky for thurby! First time at church hill downs was a success. :)
