I ordered this watch as a Christmas gift for my wife. When it arrived, I charged it in the sun and set the date and time. After it was all set, I wrapped it up and it sat awaiting Christmas day. It appeared to be functioning perfectly before wrapping. On Christmas day, when she opened her present, she was overjoyed at the style and size of the watch. However, I noticed that the date was incorrect. So, I set the date again and checked it the next day on the 26th. It was still incorrect, stuck between the 25th and the 26th.
I love this watch, which replaced one that I had from almost 50 years ago! At a 1” face, it is nicely larger than the old oneand easier to read. Lovely watch with clear gold number slash markers and gold markings around the edges and on the band make a nice contrast with the silver look of the stainless steel. The Diamond chips are indeed small; however do add a nice shine when hit by light. The band is very comfortable ( I did have a jeweler take it in a bit... and btw, the jeweler did comment on the price as being exceptionally good and said the diamonds were not chips but actual diamond pieces).so I am very pleased with this purchase . Have had many positive comments on it
After 16 months of use, the watch does not take a charge from 16 hours of direct sunlight at 80 degrees ambient temp.
I give this watch two stars because it’s so pretty. But I’ve had it in the jewelry shop three times and it still doesn’t work. The first time I had to add links because it was such a small band. I’m not a large person so I’ve surprised I had to add more links. But It was an easy enough fix. A month later it stopped working. I took it into the jewelers again and had them put a new battery in. After that, I took it off every night and set it in the window to get the morning sunlight. I thought it was my fault for not giving it enough light. But Couple months later and it stopped working again. I’m still waiting to see what’s wrong with it now. The jeweler said it’s probably internal functioning parts that are not working properly. I bought it in June 2018. It’s February 2019. I’m very disappointed in this product.
I compared this with several other Seiko watches that were solar or Citizen eco-drive watches. I specifically wanted one with diamonds (call me vain). The gold is actually quite subtle and important for when you want to wear both gold and silver jewelry. It frames the bezel very nicely. The Diamonds, unlike other reviews for similar watches are NOT "chips." Chips went the way of old antique technology. These are melee diamonds with several facets and they do sparkle nicely but they look a lot smaller than they do in the picture but that's to be expected. Some other sites were unable to distinguish between diamonds and swarvoski crystals so if you are a buying a $170 watch with diamonds make sure you look at descriptions from multiple sites, likely they are not real diamonds. Even Overstock made this mistake. These on the SUT068 however, are genuine. You need to get it resized as with any metal link watch. A watch repair shop will charge you about $10 to remove a few links and it takes minutes. This watch has a bit of weight to it, which I am very happy about. The mother of pearl face accents but does not distract. The hour and minute hands glow in the dark. This is the perfect watch.
Love this watch! Early B'Day present from my Hubby and it is to replace a well loved Invicta watch which sadly my jeweler could not repair due to problems common to the brand unknown to me :-( but I have to say this was a fabulous replacement! I love that it has real diamonds on the bezel and not some "crystals". It blends well with either gold or silver rings and looks fabulous with my yellow gold tennis bracelet.
I was looking for a watch that needs no batteries, two-tone silver and gold, glows in the dark, pretty mother of pearl background, diamond surround, date numbers, and with a second hand. It looks great and not too big for a small wrist. Everything was as expected. Very pleased. The glow-in-the-dark feature isn't all that bright though.
It is beautiful, and I love that it is solar, but I had thought and hoped that the face was larger. I am visually impaired and wanted a slightly larger face. Other than that, which is my only issue with it, it's a great watch. At first I had the jeweler take out two links, but that made it a little tight. I had them put one back in, and it's perfect for me. I like a watch to fit like a bracelet, and not snug and unmoving on my wrist. Interestingly, it arrived fully charged (second hand moved every second, not every two, as it does when it needs to be charged). However, I left it in the sunlight for the day, and it is functioning perfectly and keeping good time. The date function works well too.
