UPDATE #2 Found what main cause of stinky feet in the insole. Took the insoles out of my old pair of REAL montrails and the smell is almost gone. They still don't breath due to the fake outer "breathable" material but since i can't return them I am using them in the garden. |
Disappointed!!!! Not the sturdy Montrail Mountain Masochist I’m accustomed to wearing. I wish I had bought the old version before Columbia put their name on it. |
I’ve been running 2-6 miles in the slushy, icy, snowy packed roads with these shoes. I wear thick smart wool socks, and have taken them out about 7 times since receiving them. I’ve been testing them on steep hills and they are very comfortable wearing and my feet are never cold. They are heavier than my normal running shoes, however I expected that. They have great impact cushioning that I thought would hurt my foot, but in fact it really has helped. I wish they had spikes to help more with the ice, but over all they are a great option for trails! |
After owning and loving 4 Masochist mountain hiking shoes, and after wearing them out... I ordered this pair. They only come in outdry - which is ridic for the South. Such a letdown. The top is rigid and stiff and I could hardly walk in these shoes. My feet hurt. The shoe bed is hard, not firm -hard. The closure is no longer regular "laces" and I definitely prefer laces! No tab in back of heel to pull shoe on either. The quality which made these shoes outstanding is gone. I'm so sad that my go-to hiker and a fine shoe has been redesigned into junk. I will not be buying Columbia hiking shoes again. |
I hike a lot and really go through the shoes. These have a descent tread for So Cal rock trails. Hiking in our mountains requires shoes that take a beating and still grip. They are fairly molded to my foot, especially the heel. I find them easy to put on and because of the sliding lace, easy to take off. The lace gizmo holds up well and doesn't move or open when hiking. Overall, I love them. I've worn them about 20 times not over the last 2 months. |
I was slightly worried about using this type of lacing system since I've never tried it before. It works really well, and I don't have any slipping on my heel. Even though I wear an eight and a half in shoes, I have been told to wear a nine in running shoes to have plenty of room and not get toenail bruises. That size worked for me with these. |
I have accepted that really great Montrail shoes no longer exist. I purchased these with Hope. They offer good support and traction. The lacing system was so annoying I had to tear it out and start over. The laces are narrow like dental floss and dug into my arches, ouch! I tried to remove them but they are on a continuous loop, supported by a plastic gizmo for tightening. Finally I bought some regular sport laces at the dollar store. I cut off the originals and found that there is this insanely narrow plastic tube under the lacing loop. All I could think of was here we have some design technicians creating a problem from something that was NOT BROKEN: the basic shoelace. With great perseverance and the miracle of not cutting myself with a sharp object by pushing my dollar store laces through the "tube" I changed the laces and they do not dig into my arches and leave indentations under my skin. I would not buy these again due to the laces...it's too bad. |
Bought this as an everyday shoe for around my horse farm. I’m on my feet all day and have major issues with heal spurs and Plantar fasciitis. The cushion in these shoes is exceptional, especially in the heel. I’m not sure how long they will last...But I will be buying again just for comfort alone. They seem to run about a half size bigger than other shoes I’ve worn. |
I can't really add much - it wasn't cheap but is a good waterproof (as far as I know) sports shoe that I use for travel as it looks ok with casual wear but is for seroius walking |
Me fui por la fácil mi pie mide 27cm marca en las tallas 10 US sorpresa es un número más grande como para que lo ponen no puede ser |
