These are really nice boots. I needed some proper hiking gear for the PNW mud (sprained an ankle in lowtops), so I bought these and the Forsake Patch Women's Waterproof Premium Leather Hiking Boot to compare. Those had inferior treads and felt cheap, whereas these are the quality expected from similar products purchased from REI. The size is accurate; they are secure and hug my feet nicely, but are still just roomy enough to allow the feet to swell during day long hikes, just as proper hiking boots should fit. In contrast, the interior of the Forsake boots felt a little like Sketchers - mediocre trendy wannabe quality shoes. Almost, but not quite.
I agree with the other reviewers, however, who say they rub the back of the leg at the top. Maybe they’re designed for really thin people (I’m about a size 8)? So a star off for that. It’s pretty noticeable, especially when going downhill. But gon an incline they provide excellent support (compared to the OG Timbs roomy style of the Forsake boots), so I’m hoping they’ll stretch a bit when worn in. Also my feet are a tad wide and my “sixth toes” rub slightly against the sides, but the boots should eventually stretch to accommodate.
Lightweight and a simple sophisticated design make them good enough for wearing out and about, in a pinch, without looking too granola. And the blue-grey, cadet grey technically, is a unique alternative to tan, brown, or olive, complimenting my copper skin better. They do also come with matching shoelaces, if you don’t like the bright blue ones.

Worth the investment. Just what I was looking for.

These are horrible. Beyond awful. I had anpther pair of Danners that were also horrible and made hiking painful for the four years i used them so as to not be wasteful. Theyre falling apart now so i decided to get new shoes. I bought my partner the big bad leather Danners four years ago and theyre great. So apparantly they only make comfy shoes for men or if you spend $400 vs $180. I wore these for a few short hours on a plane (very little walking) just to loosen them up and they literally made the worst blister i have ever experienced (ALL the skin on my baby toe came off. All of it. As in, my nail fell off because there was no skin to hold it on.) And yes, I bought them a half size larger and wore nice thick socks. These are also very clunky and not as cute as the picture-very dad shoe sole. Yes, i walk a lot. More than most people-my feet arent dainty so it says a lot that shoes made for walking were bad enough to destroy my feet. I never ever return anything-its just too much trouble. But i cannot do another four years of painful hiking to justify cost or try to like a company that my partner does. Danner, youre fired. These are awful do not buy them.

I thought these boots were full grain leather but they are made of nylon canvas and suede. I still really like them immensely because they are super comfortable so they're keepers. They fit true to size but I ordered half a size up because you're supposed to for hiking boots. They are lightweight and feel like I'm walking on clouds. Good arch support. I recommend them.

Not my first rodeo with Danners. I don't understand how such a good quality boot maker still can't master making a gusset that doesn't irritate the heck out of my ankles. It's too bulky and creates a pressure point that I have to adjust a couple times a day. Otherwise I love this boot.

I'm a true 8.5 in women's shoes, and I found these to run a bit big. I wore my thick carhartt socks to supplement my first usage of them on a moderate local hike, and they blistered the backs of my ankles pretty badly. I figure I just need to wear extra thicks socks and maybe try lacing them up a bit tighter.

They are really cute - once I break them in, I'm sure they'll fit fine. I notice a lot of boots tend to rub the first couple wears.

The durability, the waterproof texture, the comfort, these shoes have it all. They are perfect for hiking through mud and rain and rivers that are shallow. I recommend these 100% because walking into the city after a day in the mountains doesn't look too out of style either.

So glad I bought these boots, incredibly comfortable and I walk through streams with these, totally waterproof, great traction and support...I'm sure these will last at least 5 years - BUY THEM

I love these boots!! They’re light weight, low profile, and so comfortable that I want to wear them every day. Almost didn’t keep them due to the height of the ankle shaft, but just laced them a down a notch and they’re prefect. Glad I worked that out bc they’re truly the most comfortable shoes I own.

These are hands down the comfiest thing I’ve ever put on my feet, incredible boot !
