This capable hiker is designed around the unique shape of a woman's foot and features an extremely sticky Vibram Megagrip sole for traction even when it's wet.
I have been searching for the perfect shoes for several years. Every shoe was always uncomfortable, did not fit right, felt cheap or hated the color options. I absolutely love the black and purple color, I did not want something that would stand out. I guess I have a hard to fit foot after so many years searching but this shoe fit perfectly right away and there was no break in period needed. I also have high arches and usually my feet are aching by the end of 1 hour walking but no longer! I must admit, I was extremely skeptical about spending this amount of money on shoes I could not try on first but I am now officially a believer in the Merrell brand!
By building a shoe to accomodate the Q angle for women, Merrell has made the most supportive and most comfortable hiking shoe I've ever owned. I am currently doing physical therapy and Precision Neuromuscular Therapy for hip imbalances and plantar fasciitis.
EVEN IT SAYS IS FOR HIKING BUT THESE ARE REAL GOOD DEAL AND LIGHT WEIGHT UNLIKE THE USUAL HIKING SHOES FIT NICELY AND WORTH ITS PRICE. MY WIFE LIKES THEM BECAUSE OF THEIR WEIGHT.
I love these Merrill hikers! They fit comfortably right out of the box, no break in period at all. They are very rugged and look nice. They have lots of color options, I own 6 pair now. I have tried more expensive tennis shoes and none come close to how these feel. I wear them every day, all day, and my feet are never tired. I have has some for several years and they still look and feel great, where others would get holes in them. The soles are very sturdy and grip really well. The siren edge 3 also looks like a tennis shoe and not a hiker.
Update: I am upgrading my review to 5 stars. While they aren't quite as wide as Moab, they are much more supportive. Additionally, they are much lighter, making my hiking experiences much more enjoyable.
For ordering online, this was pretty great! I have some weird feet and I got a 10 W and it was an almost perfect fit. Really sturdy with grip on the bottom. I feel like I'm going to roll my ankle because the heel is so high. I know $75 is pretty normal for shoes but I'm used to $9 Wal-Mart shoes. So...for such a jump in my expenditure, I'm not sure what I was expecting but so far it hasn't hit worth $75 just yet, when my husband spent $49 on fancy Addias. We went on our normal 2 mile walk in hilly town tonight and my shins hurt when they usually don't hurt. We are going hiking Monday so I may have better experience to report then.
First off, I have neuropathy in my feet, especially the toes and ball of the foot. Tennis shoes are too soft and squishy. I need something with a firm support. Also, as an avid walker and hiker averaging 5 miles at least daily and on many different types of terrain, I needed a good sole. This totally fits the bill! Wore them all day the first day they arrived! I ordered the gray(?) and it has nice purple tones in it which I love and I've received many compliments on them. Seriously thinking of ordering a 2nd pair as styles change so often. If you like firm support, this shoe's for you!
They felt weird around my heel, when I first put them on, but I decided to give them a chance anyway and I'm glad I did. I wore them around the house for a day and then went on several full day hikes in a row. They have great traction and held my foot in place really well. No break-in required. They aren't the cushiest, but I don't think you can expect hiking shoes to be. Love the colors!
This is a perfect walking shoe. The width allows for thickness of walking socks whilst still maintaining wiggle room for toes with no pressure on the side of big toe bone. There is a strong arch support feature which can be removed if you want but it doesn’t take up hardly any room. Easy lace up and lovely colours. Costs a bit more but the superior quality is worth every penny.
Sorry but this product is a gift for my wife so hopefully they will fit
