I really like these sandals and they would have been a solid 4 - 5 star had there not been a manufacturing defect. The strap placement on one of the sandals is different than the other causing a much larger opening over the toes on one of the sandals. The larger opening allows my little toe to "escape" (that dang toe has never been a fan of containment). I've requested an exchange, so I'm hoping the new ones will not have this issue. I've included pictures and measurements that show clear difference between the sandals.

As for the rest of the sandals, they are comfy and great for women with wider feet. They are what I was looking for, functional, comfortable and cute. I don't care for the look of most of the other boxier Keen sandals. The straps on these make them look more feminine but they still maintain the comfort Keen is known for. When I started looking for sandals for my upcoming vacation, I was torn between these and the Keen Rose. I ordered both to compare. I have wide feet with high arches and the Rose didn't fit me as well because of the non-adjustable ankle strap. As I did with my Rose review, I've included a comparison between the two below just in case anyone else is having trouble deciding between the two styles.

I will also update this review when I receive the replacement sandals that *hopefully* don't have the same defect.

KEEN Bali Strap vs Rose Comparison:
-Rose has non-adjustable ankle strap; Bali has two adjustable straps at the ankle area.
-Rose straps are made of softer material against the skin. It feels velvety as opposed to the typical cloth material of Keen Sandals. Both are comfortable but if the Rose straps fit me better, I would prefer their material.
-Rose feels more secure because the toe straps go up higher on the foot.
-Rose has a more cushioned sole. Bali Strap has a more contoured sole. In my opinion the sole of Rose would be better for long distance walking on relatively flat surfaces. Bali Strap sole would be better for climbing, or walking in rocky/unstable areas as the contoured sole gives the foot a better "feel" for the ground under the shoe.
-Bali Strap has an awkward opening near the small toe which can allow the small toe to "escape" (especially if there is a manufacturing defect making the opening larger than it should be; see my Bali Strap review). The straps on the Rose are closer together, which effectively keeps those rouge little toes contained.

If both sandals had fit me, I would have definitely preferred the Rose. However, the Bali Strap is the better option for my feet

I liked the functionality and eye appeal of these sandals but I’m returning them for two reasons. See my photos for reference. 1) Maybe it’s just the shape of my feet but I didn’t like how my fourth toe was positioned just below the strap. When walking around the house, I could feel the tip of the toe touching the strap. I was afraid of major irritation if I were to go the distance. 2) The ankle strap was a bit high across my joint (retinaculum) which would take some getting used to. For the cost of this sandal I didn’t want to deal with a “breaking in” period. If shoes don’t feel good on my feet from the get-go, I don’t want to take a chance that things will work out because maybe they won’t.

My pinkie toe escaped the shoe. Loved the color and look otherwise. Sadly had to return.

I was looking for a pair of Keen sandals that I could wear around water. Turns out that they have lots of options: Bali Strap, Whisper, Venice H2, Newport H2, Evo One (listed in order of list price). I purchased both the Bali Strap and the Newport H2 which are on different ends of the spectrum. In the first picture, you see the Bali Strap on the left and the Newport on the right. The Bali Strap has a thinner sole but it's still comfortable. The heel strap is adjustable. The Newport has a thicker sole; it tends to be about a 1/2 size smaller; the heel strap is not adjustable but it's very comfortable and fits my heel snuggly. In the second picture, the Bali Strap is on top, and the Newport is on the bottom. The Bali Strap has a strap across your ankle and leaves the top of your foot open whereas the Newport H2 providers more coverage (but probably terrible tan lines). I don't plan on doing any heavy hiking in these shoes, so the Bali Strap worked well for me. The Newport is definitely more sturdy and more comfortable, but too bulky for what I need.

I really want a pair of comfortable sandals that are versatile enough to be worn in a sandbox and also out to dinner if needed. They can't be dorky looking or make my feet look ridiculously huge.
I was really hoping these would be those sandals.
Fit - They seem comfortable, but the toe area is a little weird where my pinkie toes meet the straps. They are much lighter weight than other keens. The footbed is a lightweight foamy-plastic, not the heavier plastic they use (or used to use?) in the newports.
Aesthetics- My feet look crooked in them. I think it's the way the toe box straps are set. Where the straps meet the toe is designed slightly off center and it makes me feet look like they are pointing in and much wider than they are. It's also possible I need a smaller size, but I don't want to have to deal with returning them more than once if the smaller size doesn't fit.
For reference I wear an 8.5-9 typically. I bought these in an 8.5. I can get them to fit by tightening the heel strap, but there is still a considerable amount of room in the footbed.

These sandals are really cute on and comfortable from the first moment you wear in them! I love that they are "more feminine" looking than other Keen hiker sandals yet still protect your toes! I work them in Disney World - walking several miles a day - and my feet were never sore!

I had tried other shoes by Keen, but found all too heavy. These are somewhat lighter in feel and appearance than what I had tried in the past. They look cute, seem to make my feet look smaller/narrower, and are functional for wide variety of outfits and activities. And unlike other shoes by the brand I tried in the past, these fit true to size for me.

I would have given these 5 stars if the cewnter strap had been longer. I have a high bridge and arch so my foot needs a longer strap. It would have been ok just to do short walks - but if I were to stress the shoe by a hike or a water park I'm not confident the shoe would have stayed on my foot or that it would have been that comfortable having to pull it so tight as to ensure a 1/4inch cover. Nice shoe Lovely color. Just not for my hobbit feet.

Hess were really good for walking miles, in hot terrain. Went to Singapore and Sri Lanka. Very hot humid and sweaty. But the shoes were fine to wear walking.
They came up a bit long. But still fine.

Great sandal with good support. Might be a bit bigger than your usual size but not by much. Consider this when deciding what fit you would like, as return policy is not the most straight forward. Also instead of black my sandals arrived in the grey colour, luckily i like it.

I like these sandels so much I now own 5 pairs in different colours. I have arthritis in my big toe and I can walk in these without pain.

Really lightweight but robust. Very comfortable and the extra protection for the toes is good but they are still cool.

love these sandals, very comfy, accommodates my wider foot well. Nice touch with the toe protection in front.
