First introduced in 1956, the Original Tall boot is handcrafted from 28 parts and built on the original last for exceptional fit and comfort. This iconic style lies at the heart of the Hunter Original British brand. Fully waterproof and functionally led, Hunter also provide an aesthetic, for which the rainboot has developed a global fashion following.
I just received my boots and was so excited to try them on, when I opened the box, they were already all white and “bloomed”
Shipping was ok, boots new , but not what I expected. They are the Hunter Target brand.
Nice quality, heavy-duty boots. HOWEVER, the calf size is ridiculously small. I wear size 8.5-9 in shoes so I ordered size 9. The foot area was clunky, but the calf area was so tight that it pulled my jeans up when I put them on, and I had to push and push to get my jeans down in and they were still bunched up. These boots are apparently designed for skinny-minis and not an ‘average’ size woman. I’m 5’6, approx 150 and there is no way I could wear these comfortably, let alone get a boot sock in there. So disappointing as I love the look of these boots.
I have been lusting over Hunter boots for some time and finally pulled the trigger. After reading dozens of reviews I expected them to be big, they were not. I have 13/5" calves and yet I found the fit a bit tight around the calf. I usually wear 9.5s or 10s but sometimes 10s can be roomy. I decided to go with a 10 and while I have plenty of room in the foot it isn't easy for me to get my feet in and our of the ankle region in the 10. I have great ankle flexibility from being a swimmer so this was a surprise. I have gotten immediate comments but more along the lines of "You've got your barn boots on today.....where have you been working to need farm boots...." both men. The women like them. I'm 5'8" with a 33" inseam so the height didn't bother me.
Loved my first pair and I am on track to love pair #2. I wore my first pair for at about 8 years and in the first 4 I walked or biked everywhere; it was not until year 7.5 I got cracks in the toe box. The heals held up well and I expected the souls to to wear through before the toe box cracked. So yes, I am a big fan of my Hunter boots. Always feel stylish or classy in them, too. I recommend getting the matching sock/boot liners to make them even better for cold weather. They fit as expected (I'm usually an 8.5 and bought these in a 9, fit nicely if I need to wear big socks and/or the boot liners).
These boots look great and are robust quality for inclement weather and look stylish. I was hoping I could wear these all over, running errands, etc. but they are so heavy its like lugging 10 pound weights on my feet, and they are snug on the calf so I can really only wear my skinny pants that are are tight on the ankle comfortably with them. I have a lot of friends who have these so I thought I would splurge on a pair, but am disappointed.
Since my daughter went to college in the Northeast, she has said that these boots coupled with the tall long socks Hunter also sells, it really is fashionable and her feet stay warm and dry despite the heavy rain and snow. Once being exposed to the rain or snow, the boot does look like it has been stained when it has been dried off, but you can simply use a wet towel and the boot looks new again! We were comparing this and the short Hunter boot, and was pleased that this boot is better for rainy and snowy areas! Really recommend if you live in an area where there is a lot of snow and rain!
I ordered these being told they were true to size and to order normal size as a regular tennis shoe. My sister ordered these last year and got her normal shoe size and said they fit snug. I ordered these and got them for Christmas and got to finally wear them for the first time since it finally rained where I live. They felt like I ordered a size too large. I normally wear a women's 9 and so that's what I ordered and they fit like a women's 10. It's really uncomfortable how much room is in them, theres almost an inch space from my toe to the tip of the toe of the boot. I can't return them either as Amazon isn't letting me since it's "too late passed my return date". I'm extremely disappointed and would love to exchange these for a smaller size, shame.
Great boots. My wife wears them around our hobby farm daily!
2nd pair of Hunters that I've had, the first pair lasted about 8 years & when they died I had to order another pair! They are brilliant, comfortable & great for long wet walks with the dogs!
If you have very slim legs these wellies will look fantastic but I had to return them. I'm a tall size 10 but they are far far too tight on the calf.. just about got them on and didn't look right at all. Basically these are Wellies for supermodels!
These were a replacement pair for a pair that leaked in that were purchased in 2017. Unfortunately within 12 months the replacement have also started to leak. These boots come with a 2 year guarantee from Hunter and so Amazon replaced the first pair but now refuse to replace the second pair. Hunter refuse to honour the guarantee as Amazon are not an authorised supplier. These boots are overpriced for such poor quality and if you purchase from Amazon you are unlikely to get a replacement if they fail within the 2 year warranty period.
I have been an Amazon Customer for aggggeeees, and this is the first time I have felt compelled to write any kind of negative review, but I feel it important for others to see this before using this company. I received the boots and straight away thought "mmm... not sure they are real". I have had Hunters before, and this pair just didn't feel right to me. So, I took another look at the reviews for them on Amazon and saw that others people had felt the same. Furthermore, on the occasions that the boots did malfunction, getting a refund from this company seemed a nightmare. The boots are not cheap, so I decided to go with my instinct, return them on the basis that they didn't seem quite right, and buy from Hunter direct. Amazon - utterly brilliant as always - approved the request straight away and having boxed the boots up, I gave the matter no more thought. However, I have today received an e-mail from the company stating that I am wrong: that the boots are real, and that if I still want to return them, then "I am welcome" to submit a return request. This was my response:
