These boots are perfectly functional and stylish. I read a LOT of reviews before purchasing, so I'll try to be helpful with this one. :)
I really really wanted to like these boots. They are so cute and stylish, plus they have a liner so my boots won't get progressively stinkier every time I wear them! I need new boots for Boston winters where I walk about a mile to work every day in a variety of wet/cold/icy/snowy conditions. I normally wear a size 8, so I ordered these in size 7 and the ones with shearling in size 8. Neither really fit right. The main issue is that the material of the shaft of the boot is so stiff that it doesn't bend as I walk. It pushes my foot forward and mushes my toes against the front of the shoe in both sizes, and also feels very odd as I walk. I don't think these would be very comfortable for anything more than walking a few steps. I had also ordered Sorel Caribou's at the same time to compare, and the soles of those are both thicker (and therefore warmer) and look to have more traction than these. I'm sad because these are cuter than the Caribous, but I need to be warm and dry and stable more than I need to be cute. I wish I could be all of the above, but alas the boot designers of the world haven't figured a way to allow that yet.
These boots are very nice. However, be aware that the pink laces and trim is very bright so you will draw a lot of attention when you wear them out. They keep your feet very warm, but if your going to be going from outside then staying in an office all day I'd recommend bringing another pair of shoes or your feet will get hot. But perfect for snow or being outside in the cold for awhile.
Love the colors of this boot (gray/pink), it gives a bit more style when trudging through snow. These do work for large calves, mine are 17 inches. There is enough room for the shaft to expand and plenty of lace to extend. One thing to note though, because they are a taller style, they look different on a larger calf. I ended up exchanging these for a shorter Sorel style because I didn't like how high up they came. I use mine for playing in the snow with our kids and other outdoor activities like snowmobiling and the shorter style gives me more mobility.
Super nice boots. Awesome for slushy days. I stomp right through the snowy slush! NO worries about wet feet. These definitely keep your feet warm and dry. Love these boots. They do run a little bit big, but if you're wearing heavy socks with them they'd be fine. I'd order 1/2 size down.
I bought these boots for a trip to Chicago in December. They provided me with the best warmth ever. My toes never felt cold. The grip in the sole of the shoe was perfect never once did I feel as if I was unsteady. They were easy to put on and take off, sometime I have trouble with pushing my foot into boots, but with these it was pretty easy. My only complaint it is that the "spine" of the boot is very stiff so it did rub on the back of my ankle. What I am referring to the spine is the back of the boot down the center. I am not sure if that was because they were new or if that is the way they will stay. I was satisfied with my purchase, just wish I knew how to make the spine not rub on my ankle.
So far so good. I was worried about the fit at the top as I have large calves I usually have to buy short boots. The top is open about almost as wide as the laces allow and it accommodates my 17" calf pretty comfortably even with my jeans tucked in. The bottom section fits wonderfully and they're very comfortable. I haven't tried them out in the snow yet but they're certainly warm now.
Very warm! I live in Massachusetts and use these in high snow. They work great. Warm, even without socks. They are tall, and very sturdy. Lots of compliments and people saying they are going to get some too! I wear a size 5 1/2 and I purchased a 6. This was a perfect choice because otherwise they'd be a little tight pulling off around the ankle area. They are a little "clunky" looking, but I quickly got used to the look and now find them super cute! Plus, I've noticed snow boots are a little clunky in general.
Incredible, great boots. I could go north and my feet would stay warm and cozy all the time. I love the colors, the quality. One nice thing is that my calfs are really thick, and I usually can't wear long boots as they don't tie up, or zip up, but I can wear these! The only thing you have to acknowledge is that they are BIG, and if you're wearing size 42,your feet will actually look 45.
