I bought my first pair of Ariat paddock boots about 5 years ago and they were awful. They were the kind that zipped down the middle of the front, and on the first ride they destroyed my feet. Literally bruised the top of my foot where the zipper was in addition to huge blisters, and I swore I'd never buy Ariat again.

Flash to now and I was desperate for a pair of paddock boots and needed them right away. Ariat is the most common brand available in America for riding boots, and I couldn't get another brand by the time I needed them to get to me without paying an exorbitant fee to ship. So I ordered these and hoped for the best.

First impression - they were comfortable when trying them on and just walking around. I rode for the first time in them today, and they were very comfortable. No bruising, no blisters, no "breaking in" period. Perfect and exactly what I needed. I still would not buy their zippered paddock boot styles, but these are warming me to Ariat as a brand again...

I am not a rider. I choose to have at least one pair of leather ankle high lace-up boots to serve my weakened ankles, moderate arch, high instep, wide forefoot, narrow heel in a casual business setting with a great deal of walking. I ordered 3 pair of lace-up Ariat Paddock boots: Heritage [email protected], Round [email protected], Heritage [email protected] The Heritage IV had a nice smooth thick leather that was quite stiff and would polish up nicely but it would take a while to break those in comfortably. Amazingly enough the wide was too roomy for me even with cushy socks and my own sole inserts. I can see where this boot would be a boon to those with truly wide feet. The RT had lots of wiggle room in the toe box while slim enough to cradle the heels but with the same leather as the Heritage IV and I might have been satisfied enough with that alone despite the odd appearance had I not then tried on the Heritage Breeze.

I know the conventional wisdom is to try boots early in the day. But if one can put on these boots at the end of the day when one is fatigued and already has achy feet...and then smile at just how darn good this footwear feels...these boots are never leaving me. The leather is so soft that there is ZERO break-in time. I realize that these will not last as long as the others but my feet do not care. Just enough lift in the heel height to ease the back. Lace-up for personalized fit at the ankle with the heel stabilizers and shank provide plenty of lateral support (cannot stand those damn zip-ups that were made for supper skinny ankles). The softness also means that they will stretch a bit more than the stiffer leather but OK, that is what new sole inserts are for not to mention cushy socks. They polish up nicely but will never attain that "parade gloss" look and that works with the pebbled appearance. The toe cap detail is pleasant and the heel is better suited to an "out of the paddock" look than other Ariat options. They look sharp with business casual wear as well as out of office attire. These are a most welcome addition to a three season closet and a wonderful alternative to my dark burgundy Rosie ankle high lace-up Wolverines.

The quality of these boots is not as good as the quality of similar.Ariat boots I bought 10 years ago. There seems to be less arch support, they dont have the lace holders where the laces click into place and the tongue is low quality. I returned them after emailing Ariat customer service to see if there is a better model available. It took Ariat a month to reply and when I did get a reply it advised me that my inquiry was closed.

I only wear them one hour a week but WOW they are so much more comfortable than the non leather ones I have had for several years. I have MS and it is hard to get boots on with just a zipper front side or back. These super easy lace ups are so much easier. They are beyond comfortable and look great. Also my husband is thrilled because apparently he can now "spit shine"my boots. Who knew he was concerned about such things. LOL.

I bought these boots after meeting a woman at a workshop that had them. They looked really comfy, and let me tell you they are! I love these boots. They fit nicely, they were slightly roomy, but perfect for wearing a pair of warm wool socks. These boots keep my feet dry and warm. From right out of the box, I could wear them all day with no discomfort. I also got the Breeze half chaps, and love those as well. I prefer them to my field boots. My favorite thing about these boots is that they do double duty. They are so stylish that I wear them to work and then to the barn. After the barn, I wipe them off and wear them to work again, with no horsey smell. I am very happy with these boots. They serve me well. I highly recommend them.

Nice, comfortable boots right out of the box. I normally wear an 8 or an 8 1/2, depending on the brand, style. I ordered an 8 1/2, and it allows for my thick socks nicely!

I love these boots. I got them to wear to wear with my boot cut slacks. They are awesome. I have a narrow ankle and these fit!! Most of the boots I buy are too wide in the shank and provide no support but these are great.

I have been wearing this boot for years and purchased this pair as a gift for my cousin who has degenerated cartilage in her ankles. Unfortunately her feet are too swollen to allow her to get the boots on. I wear my boots every day and love them and my granddaughter wears them too!
