These are the most comfortable dance shoes I have EVER owned. I had foot surgery at the tender age of 20, and am now 50, and I rehearsed in these shoes for over two hours the first time I wore them. I totally forgot about my feet, given there was no pain. I've already ordered another pair of DSOL and hope they're just as comfortable!
These are an excellent value for dance shoes. Exactly as described. I usually wear a size 10, but reviews suggested ordering a half size down, and I did, and they are perfect. (My foot is on the wide side, but not wide enough for wide-size shoes, my heel and toes are balanced, not narrow or wide, I have a pretty high arch, and slight bunions. These adapt very nicely to my foot shape.) I wanted a mid-heel, not too strappy dance shoe with a full heel cup for support and these are just what I wanted, although I would prefer a quarter strap instead of the crossed ankle strap. I've worn them for tango, swing, two-step and more, and they support and hold comfortably through anything. They have a black suede outsole, for easy turns and spins without being slippery, but they should only be worn on a dance floor, or the suede will get torn up easily.
These are fairly comfortable & good for practicing ballroom dancing, but they aren't perfect. My favorite thing about them is the almost-closed toe area, which ensures you don't have a toe poking out thru the straps. (However, some dance teachers say it's OK to have 2-3 toes sticking out past the tip of the shoe, so who knows.) The heel height is good, somewhere between 2-2.5 inches. They are designed only to fasten with the straps around your ankle. There's no loop or slot on the bottom of the shoe to wrap the strap under your foot instead, and even if you wrap it under the arch of the shoe anyway (as I did), there's a big empty loop right at your Achilles heel just sticking up and looking empty.
I was disappointed in the performance of these shoes. They came in a timely fashion. They are pretty and they fit fine. But after wearing them for the first time they lasted 2 hours and the tip of one of the heels broke off in the middle of a dance. Had to dance barefoot the rest of the night. Not fun. I had to pay $20 for our local shoe repair place to replace the tips. Had to do both so they would match the height. Would not buy again. There were many less expensive shoes on Amazon but I went with the more expensive pair thinking you get what you pay for. Not true in this case. I will try another pair from a different seller. I wore them again after they were repaired and now they kill my feet after 2 hours. Not happy at all. $70 down and no proper shoes for dancing.
We ordered these shoes after having another pair of DSOL dance shoes that my daughter loves and they fit perfect. This pair although the same size did not fit the same. They were about a size too large. I called the company and they credited my money back and we ordered a size smaller. I hate the delay but the company did make it right immediately. I will use them again. My daughter says the shoes are sturdy and comfortable.
This dance shoe is the best for the price! Very comfortable, it’s true to size. Lots of support. I’m a size 9 1/2 and I ordered a 9 1/2. I am very pleased. I danced all night with no problems. Very well made dance shoe. The peep toe is amazing, only shows two of your toes ( not like most that has 3 of your toes peeping out). I’m definitely going to order the color black too. This gold color is very pretty.
I thought these were great when I first got them, but after wearing them to class for 2 weeks, the suede sole has already separated from the body of the shoe. They have also stretched out and gotten really loose. I take responsibility for the 2nd problem. I probably should have ordered a smaller size. I ordered my true shoe size (the smaller of the 2, I waver between 8.5 & 9, so I ordered an 8.5).
This is a great basic dance shoe. I bought it for my daughter to wear in her school play. She needed for a specific dance scene as she’s wearing a prom like dress. I figured she couldn’t wear her regular dressy shoes as the heel is too high. This shoe has only a 1 1/2 inch heel. It’s perfect! They are comfortable. She is a trained dancer so I figure it was worth it to purchase. Besides the price was right. The buckle took some figuring out , it’s made to come off and on quickly .
